Why choose an out-of-network psychiatrist?
More personalized care: Private cash pay psychiatrists often have more time to spend with their patients and can provide more personalized care, as they are not bound by the limitations of insurance reimbursement.
Faster access to care: With private psychiatrists, there may be shorter wait times to schedule an appointment compared to those who accept insurance.
Access to more treatment options: Private psychiatrists may be able to offer a wider range of treatment options beyond what is typically covered by insurance, such as specialized therapies or newer medications.
Increased privacy: Private psychiatry practices may be able to offer more privacy to their patients, as they are not required to share patient information with insurance companies.
Reduced paperwork: Patients who see a private cash pay psychiatrist may be able to avoid the hassle of dealing with insurance paperwork and bureaucracy.
Greater control over treatment: When paying out of pocket, patients may have greater control over their treatment plan and can work more closely with their psychiatrist to determine the best course of action.
Flexibility with scheduling: Private cash pay psychiatrists may offer more flexible scheduling options, such as evening or weekend appointments, which can be helpful for individuals with busy schedules.
It is important to note that private cash pay psychiatry may not be the best option for everyone. Individuals should consider their financial situation and needs when deciding whether to seek out this type of care.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
